What is AutoSave DP ?

AutoSave DP a Standalone application that gives "Auto save" capablilites to MOTU Digital Performer.


How does it work?

AutoSave DP saves your chosen DP Project File. There are options to choose the interval between each save, and to make incremental copies of the file and set the maximum number of copies. Your original file is copied and left untouched - so you can always go back to how it was before you started a session, no matter what has happened since.

AutoSave DP isn't simply an automatic - "Apple+S" thing, it is far more flexible and allows you to make automatic incrimental backups of your DP project as you are working on it. It only copies the project file, which is typically very small, and not the Audio files and other project data. This helps to keep clutter down and stops your disk from filling up without your realising it!



System Requirements:

Universal Binary The latest version of AutoSave DP has only been found to work on 10.4.7, it failied to work reliably on a G4 running 10.4.4. Of course you also need Digital Performer* !!!

DP 4.0 - 5.1

AutoSave DP has now been tested with DP 4.12, 4.51, 4.6 and 5.1 (Universal Binary, Intel build) and works as normal.

AutoSave DP 1.1 may not work correctly on some versions of OSX on a PPC mac. In such cases please download version 1.0.6 from the downloads page or update to OS X 10.4.7. Please note that this older version requires activation after 7 days.

I have decided to strip out the authentication system due to low demand and compatibility problems. Hopefully this will clear up the issues some G5 users were having and they will now be able to run the app successfully. The software is now "donationware" and as such I ask that if you find it useful you make a donation. Recommended amount is £5 or $10 USD for home users. If you use ASDP in a studio environment as a living feel free to donate a little more - as much as it is worth to you.
